下廚日 - 石板街 Rocky Road

今年聖誕節和新年弄了很多石板街送人和開大食會.造起來簡單又沒有難度呢..

材料

牛油 - 約70g
黑朱古力 - 約300g
牛奶朱古力- 約100g
紅莓乾
杏仁
消化餅 - 五塊
棉花糖 (小粒的)
糖霜

步驟

1. 煮溶(要用細火)牛油和朱古力

2. 弄碎杏仁和消化餅

3. 把紅莓乾, 杏仁和消化餅加入朱古力, 拌勻.

4. 朱古力放涼20分鐘後, 加入棉花糖, 拌勻. (太早放棉花糖會溶掉的)

5. 把石板街倒進錫紙盤, 放涼便入雪櫃.

6. 待朱古力轉硬 (約一小時) 便可切開小塊, 灑糖霜, 完成!!

如喜歡餅乾脆脆的質感,可加多一點. 如喜歡棉花糖軟綿綿的感覺, 便加多點棉花糖少點餅乾. 十分隨意的.

我喜歡把它堆起來, 看上去像雪山...=)

放入小禮物袋送人也不俗呢..

Run run run

To begin with, I'm not an avid runner. I used to run around once a week when I was eager to lose weight. 3 years ago, I joined the 10km marathon and finished it around 70 mins, which was a nice experience and a track record for myself.

This year, I missed the chance of the marathon registration (coz I was still struggling on taking the 10km or 21km one). Last week, suddenly the registration opened again and I enrolled myself into 21km (half) which starts at 5:45am!!! I must be crazy but anyway, one's physique will deteriorate on getting older and it's better to take this challenge sooner (or never).

So 2.5 months to go, how can I train up myself to finish the race? I don't know how exactly, but plan to run twice or three times a week, ideally 6-7km at least for each session. So fingers crossed for myself, at least hope I can finish the race even on walking if not running.. =)

Also, got this fuchsia Mizuro trainer coz my New Balance cracked on left unused for a long time, it's lightweight and sharp enough. This will be my great companion for coming months... =D

Meeting Mr. Christian Louboutin

I've been a faithful Chrisitan Louboutin shoes lover years ago. Now, the heels is just getting higher and higher (everything over 140mm is a no-no to me) and the design is kinda outrageous for my lifestyle (except putting them in the closet), I stopped buying for quite some time already. However, I must admit some of his designs are so pretty and sexy, not to mention the signature red soles is tempting for almost everyone.

The first Christian Louboutin shop opened in Central 2 years ago. The business is so great (shoes are long gone before sale) and the second shop was opened in Harbour City 3 months ago. Last night, Mr. Louboutin himself made a visit to the new shop together with his Loubi angels.

Before Mr. Louboutin arriveed, the shop outside was packed and people simply wait. I was busy stalking people's shoes... =)

Sure there's champagne and snacks, you can see some of his designs on the cookies.

When Mr. Louboutin appeared, the canvas was unveiled and here you go with the new shop. People just flocked into the shop following him.

All those sparkling strass, glitter and studs are on display. 

He's so nice on greeting his "supportive" customers and took pictures with crowds of people.

Some ladies were lucky enough to get his autograph on new shoes. I was "this" close on getting the autograph too but the PR said he got to rush for another event (sad sad...)

下廚日 - 焦糖燉蛋 Crème brûlée

簡單易做的甜品. 以下是看電視節目及網絡的食譜總結出來的"超簡單"版本.

材料 (六人份量):
蛋黃6隻
忌廉600ml
砂糖6茶匙

雲呢拿香油/雲呢拿條

如果只是四人份量, 所有數字轉為"4"便行.

1. 先把糖加入蛋黃拌勻

2. 煮熱忌廉 (微溫), 加幾滴雲呢拿油 (如用雲呢拿條, 則原條放入忌廉, 之後把雲呢拿籽刮出)

3. 把忌廉分次倒入蛋液 (一邊攪拌一邊倒).
4. 把蛋液倒進小焗兜, 約2/3滿
5. 預熱焗壚, 把大焗盤注入水(半滿)弄成water bath (目的是使小焗兜平均受熱). 放入小焗兜, 焗壚溫度130 度, 焗30 分鐘

6. 30 分鐘後, 取出小焗兜. 放涼後放入雪櫃. 如蛋液尚未凝固, 再焗10 分鐘
7. 在燉蛋的表面灑上一層糖, 用火槍燒糖直至溶解 (轉成啡色)便成.

Les Secrets de la Veste

On national holiday, I attended the captioned event organized by Chanel, to discover the secrets of the iconic jacket. A pretty French lady introduced the signature pieces of Chanel and explained all the subtle details of the jacket and its making process. The tweed fabric, 4 pockets, buttons on the sleeves, silk lining and the metal chains around the hems all come for their own reasons. The jacket is practical and classic and never get outdated (guess no one will challenge that the jacket is from several seasons ago, Chanel vintage is just getting much sought-after in these days).

Yes, Chanel jacket is expensive and the price is comparable to a handbag. However, it's well worth to give up a bag and add this iconic piece into your wardrobe.

The exhibition is held in Chanel Central shop and open for public access starting Oct 2.

Normally the little gift after attending the event is cosmetics, but this time it is a handy notebook which I love so much.

六小時的 Best of Youth

當年在灣仔"影藝"戲院放映時錯過了. 後來在HMV看到DVD, 便決心要買下來. 等等等, 在大減價時見到只要$95便立即據為己有.不時盤算著甚麼時候可以安坐家中一整天來看(影片分上,下半部, 共長六小時). 最後上週末完成了.

Best of Youth (燦爛人生). 說的是一個義大利家庭裡兩兄弟的故事. 暑期旅行前遇見了精神病院的少女, 改變了兩兄弟的命運. 故事從60年代開始, 經歷40多年, 說親情/愛情/友情, 當中生離死別, 有喜有悲.

電影不是史詩式的風格, 而是踏實的說故事. 節奏明快流暢, 六小時下來, 難得的是只有追看下去的意欲, 伴著意大利的怡人景色, 值得一看.

Andrew Yang's The Koukltias Collection at Joyce

Tonight, I attended the book launch and exhibition of Andrew Yang's The Koukltias Collection at Joyce boutique at Central.

Andrew Yang is a NY based painter and illustrator. The Koukltias are a line of 27" fashion rag dolls. Each doll is handmade and the faces are all hand painted. This collabation with Joyce HK features around 40 dolls, each is dressed in one of the favourite looks from the A/W 2010 collections.





It looks like a showcase of all the key pieces for this season. The dolls are not for sale, instead you got to spend over a certain amount and then enter a lucky draw.

Andrew Yang himself was at the event. He's nice, greet and autograph on his book, plus draw a portrait of the customer on the first page!!!

My wishlist for Fall

Though it's still hot here in Hong Kong, it's August already and the Fall/Winter collections ads are all over the magazines and internet now. Also the shops are packed with all the new arrivals. Here is my wishlist for this season.

1. YSL Tribtoo pumps

I tried a light grey pair before my Japan trip but gave up since I wanna save for my trip. Now I'm kinda kicking myself for passing it since it's sold out everywhere!!! I've been searching high and low for it but seems I have to wait till Nov. My first choice goes to grey, second will be red or raspberry patent.

2. Cape

I love capes, got a white/black houndstooth one last year and a black Comme des Garcons short trench one in Tokyo last month. Cape is so versatile, simply match with any dress/skirt/pants and you'll look chic.

This year, quite a number of brands (YSL, Rag & Bone, 3.1 Phillip Lim) feature capes on the runways. I love this one from Rag & Bone.

The padding and plaids are playful enough, but the coat is out of my price range...

4. Alaia belt

Alaia makes this style every season in different materials. Would love to get a black leather one with lace details.

5. A grey fitted dress

Any brand will do, just it's pretty... =)

6. Lace stuffs

I covet anything lace (clothes/dress/heels/coats...) as long as it doesn't look too much like lingerie. I still don't have the nerve to wear head-to-toe lace yet (maybe can give a shot later). This Givenchy red lace dress looks so seductive and yummy.

馬來西亞之旅 - 吉隆坡, 馬六甲

好友回吉隆坡探親, 我也順道來玩幾天.

吉隆坡沒有香港那麼熱, 下午下雨後也涼快一點.

主要是食為主, 沒有太多景點. 只去"看"了雙子塔 (是"看", 不是參觀. 參觀雙子塔是免費的, 門票由早上八時半開始派發, 派完即止). 我沒有那種能耐八時前去排隊... =p

食 - "Madam Kwan's" 同 "Little Penang Kafe" 的食物都不俗

Nasi Lemak 椰漿飯, Laksa 叻沙, 炒貴刁, Cendo 珍多冰



當然有我喜歡的榴槤. 一個人吃了整整一個!!!



大型商場Pavilion的 food court 都有大量選擇. 用紙杯盛著串燒, 好好味.



近dorsett regency hotel 有一家"永興城茶餐室", 賣好好味的豬肉粉, 湯面上的一層豬油, 好香好味道!!



也買了一大堆零食回來, 即食麵, 辣椒油, 蝦片, 肉乾, 蝦麵同叻沙湯料...



買 - 必去的是topshop. 平時需要上網買, 吉隆坡有幾間分店, 貨也有點不同.



又因為嚷著要去馬六甲. 好友託人駕車帶我們去. 到馬六甲大概需要個多小時, 坐巴士約需兩小時. 馬六甲像個舊城區, 很多建築物也有百年歷史.





再次多謝好友做導遊.. =D

Happy Bday to me

I got great days for my bday. Thanks for my friend for the early celebration. Also, thank you for DH's home-made dinner and bday cake.... =)

Bday wishes.. hmm.. as usual la...

Bday gift, haha, still hunting for it.. Somehow, I'm too picky... =P

I'm glad that I don't feel older though actually I am. Well, it just depends on how you feel and think. Stay young at heart is the most important.

我看<無痛失戀> 和 <戀愛夢遊中>

上星期看了兩套戲, 分別是 <無痛失戀> (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) 和 <戀愛夢遊中> (Silence of Sleep), 導演都是 Michel Gondry.



看了<無痛失戀> 幾次, 每次看後也覺得戚戚然, 也不禁想"洗腦公司"的存在是好事或壞事, 或者我會否光顧呢??!! 它是我的 all-time favourites. 喜歡看Michel Gondry 和 Charlie Kaufman合作的作品, 一個導演一個編劇, 戲天馬行空之餘, 有意思也有趣味 (當年在電影節看 Being John Malkovich 真的是拍案叫絕).



至於<戀愛夢遊中>則是Michel Gondry 自編自導的作品. 戲不俗, 那些混合夢境與現實的定格動畫也很有趣, 但是個人覺得好像欠了一點點, 沒有前作的深度. 可能就是沒有Charlie Kaufman 編劇的原因. Michel Gondry 之後自編自導的 "Be Kind Rewind" 也如是.

或許這便是兩人之間所產生的化學作用. 正在找Charlie Kaufman 自編自導的"Synecdoche, New York" 影碟, 不知道沒有 Michel Gondry 會否令人失望.

Art HK 10

Art HK 10, an exhibition of Modern & Contemporary Art, was held last week in Hong Kong. It's interesting to see how the artisits can be so creative/inspiring/experimental...
